Networking
At home I have a network of 3 computers, a 386 DX 40, a 486 133 and my favorite a Pentium 166. For playing network games I use Novell Personal Netware, but for regular file and printer sharing I use Microsoft Windows 95 Networking. There are so many benefits to setting up your own network.
When I first started at the place I'm working at now, they had no network, only five computers two of which were 286s. After a couple of months I had the entire office networked together, we upgraded several computers and there is nothing less than a 486 on a network of 6 computers. We can print to any printer from any computer, we can share files easily and quickly, and internet access is piped down to everybody from one modem connection. I love networks!
Here are some of the benefits you could enjoy from setting up a network:
Sharing files over a fast 10 Mbit/sec connection
Sharing one printer between all computers
Everyone in the family or workgroup can access the internet at the same time
Network games like DOOM or Duke Nukem 3D
Your very own intranet
So buy yourself some network cards, slap them into your computers and network those puppies! Or if I'm not terribly busy, you live in the Seattle area and are willing to pay an obscene amount of money, I could set it up for you. E-mail me if you so desire.
