Mike Nelson: The Character

Mike Nelson

The second host of Mystery Science Theater 3000, Mike Nelson is a mild mannered character with not much personality unfortunately. Or at least not a very well defined one. He spends just as much time if not more playing a role for some skit as he does demonstrating any personality of his own.

Mike is right at home in the theater, he is quick and witty with the comments and has better than average timing for it. However his lack of personality hurts him during the host segments. He seems uninteresting and bland as he goes through the motions, were it not for the presence of Tom Servo and Crow, I personally would forward through all the host segments.

Note: This does not at all reflect what I think about Mike Nelson the person, just what I think about Mike Nelson the character. Two different people, I just wish they had two different names so I could keep that straight. :)

With all that's going on in Season 8 Mike's lack of personality won't really be an issue, the host segments can't help but be interesting now that they're in a dynamic environment in which pretty much anything can happen!
