Favorite TV Shows

Ok, in my ever so humble opinion these are the coolest shows on Television! My neural nets were forged by the images presented by these programs. From the earliest one I remember to the ones I'm obsessed about today.

Popeye used to be my reason for living as a child. I would wake up very early every sunday morning to watch that one guy who would take squiggles people sent in and turn them into a cartoon character present cartoon after cartoon of Popeye.

Saturday morning cartoons like G-Force, Super Friends, Godzilla, George of the Jungle, Looney Toons, Thundar the Barbarian, all those Sid and Marty Kroftt variety bits.

Tranzor Z and Voltron were really cool to me when I was a kid, that whole thing in Tranzor Z where the female robot shot her breasts at people probably left deep psychological scars in my impressionable young mind. To this day I can't... never mind.

Land of the Lost made a real big impression on me, especially the sceincy bits about the crystals and time windows and whatnot.

The Incredible Hulk, not a cartoon, but the actual live action show starring Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno.

M*A*S*H* was my babysitter as a kid, I really liked that show but I would go through periods where I couldn't stand to watch it. I don't know if it was a certain batch of shows that were just not good or if I was just in some prolonged anti-mash mood.

Transformers were kind of cool, as were the toys. That and G.I. Joe were among my favorite shows when I was in Elementary school. I can remember turning the chairs on thair backs and I would sit on them pretending I was in a Skystriker. Man I was weird! :)

These days I watch mostly Sci-Fi shows and comedies. I'm real partial to Discovery show documentaries and series like The Universe Within or The Human Animal. The last series I saw that got me really excited was Future Fantastic, hosted by Gillian Anderson.

I was also a big fan of The Secret Life of Machines, that was a really good series and I wish they'd bring it back so I could get a good recording of them all.

I've always disliked soap operas, shows like 90210 or Melrose Place really make me queasy. Probably because it was due to shows like that I rarely ever saw my family who was locked up in one room watching them.

When I got internet access, though, I found myself neglecting television completely. The world is much more entertaining when you can search for exactly what you want, Television is hit and miss, mostly miss. I think it's great because TV stations will have to develop good content if they want to tear people away from the internet.
