This show is not my favorite. Another show attempting to portray the human as the intellectual, moral and altruistic being he is not. Maybe if it weren't so insistant on making the other aliens look so bad. Londo is an alcoholic compulsive gambler, O'Kar's race loves fight for the sake of fighting, Delenn is from a race of religious zealots and the other species are enigmatic weirdos who kill at the slightest provocation.

But perhaps I'm taking this show too seriously. Perhaps instead of taking it as an attempt to elevate man's own ego I should interpret these differences as metaphores, and all these aliens are but aspects of the human psyche. In which case the part that the human plays would be the place we would like to be at. But what could be learned from this show is that there is room for other aspects, in moderation. No that doesn't work, the differences are too extreme and the alien's ways are too negative.

Well, if you can overlook a crappy storyline and premis, there are some marginally impressive computer graphics involved. I hear that they do Babylon 5 Entirely on an Amiga with a Video Toaster. Neat.

I heard for a while that they were developing one of the characters on this show as a lesbian. Again with the weasely TV execs trying to cow-tow to the politically correct market demographics and hoping to gain some free publicity in the meantime. Gawd those hollywood weasels irk me!

I do mention this show at least once a month though. However it's in the context of an MST 3K quote.

Welp, if you like Babylon 5, here are some neat links to other sites.
