Star Trek Movies

I was watching A&E's Biography show on Leonard Nimoy and got some background on went on with the original series. Apparently people went nuts over Nimoy's character and Shatner got jealous because he felt it was his show. So they strengthened the relationship between Spock and Captain Kirk so people would think of them as inseperable.

The first Star Trek movie did well apparently, personally it doesn't keep my attention. In it a race of robotic peoples are heading toward earth, they come across the Enterprise and they investigate, they determine that the USS Enterprise is the life form and that the humans inside are just parasites. Then some other stuff happens and we eventually realize that this race of people have formed a religion based upon the message contained in the Voyager space craft launched oh so long ago. They call it V ger (there's some letters missing from it).

The second movie I could actually relate to. It's called the Wrath of Khan and I've actually seen the Star Trek (Original Series) episode it's based on. I must admit that episode is as good as if not better than many of the episodes from all of the new series. In it, Khan whom Kirk originally gave a planet to so that he and his may create their own civilization of supermen, plans revenge upon the crew that put him on that planet (despite the fact that they did so with the best of intentions and the problems Khan experienced were due to natural phenomenon). Spock dies in this movie, at the end when he tries to save the ship.
