     Synnøve Kristiania Eriksdatter Vik was born on 18 December 1864 at Stryn, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway.1,3 She was the daughter of Erik Sjursen Grønevik and Brithe Iversdatter Indre Bø.2
     'Sep. 1885 - Synnøve became pregnant with Ragnvald, who was born June, 1886. Synnøve and Ola never married. When Ragnvald, my father was 8 years old, Synnøve married Anders Øvresæt, who refused to be a stepfather to her "bastard" son.

My father wrote the following in 1965 ("History of my mother's side of the family"): My mother was next (4th oldest of the 7 sisters.) She married Anders Øvresæt, and besides myself, had three children: Julius, a teacher in Stryn, now retired; Edvin (of Madison, MN) and Karen, (Mrs. Einar Espe of Stryn, Norway.)"' -- [Orien Vik] in 1885.4,5 Synnøve and Ola had one child.4
     Synnøve Kristiania Eriksdatter Vik married Anders Jonson Øvresæt on 16 June 1892 at Stryn, Sogn og Fjordane.4 Synnøve and Anders had two sons and a daughter.4 Synnøve Kristiania Eriksdatter Vik was widowed on 26 March 1930 at age 65.4 She died on 28 April 1949 at Nedstryn, Stryn, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway, at age 84.6
