Nelle Grønevik Anderson
Nelle Bertine Eriksdatter Vik married Anders Antonsen Dispen, son of Anthon Klaussen Dispen and Britha Larsdatter Lindvig, on 26 May 1898 at Johanneskirken, Bergen, Norway.3 Nelle Bertine Eriksdatter Vik and Anders Antonsen Dispen emigrated on 26 May 1898 from Stryn, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway to USA.4 The photo shows Oline, her sister Nelle, Alma and Bertha Henden and Bertine Waldrof in 1905.
"Nelle, 6th of the 7 Sisters, married Andrew Anderson [sic], came to America in the 1890's and he was a shoemaker in Clarkfield until his retirement. They had no children. One adopted daughter, Bertine (Mrs. Lefty Becker) living in Mpls. Nelle was the twin." -- History of my mother's side of the family, Ragnvald Vick (1965).6
"Nelle was a tiny woman, who acted as a midwife in Clarkfield, MN. Nellemoste and Skomaker were married in Norway but took the ship for America right away because Nelle's father, Erik Grønevik, did not like Skomaker as a son-in-law. (Letter dated 1980 from Mrs. Arden Jurgenson.) She and her husband raised a baby, Bertine, to adulthood. In 1950, Nelle was killed by a car in the street in front of her house." -- Grønevik, Alma Henden Stewart (1987).7
