     Johanne Marie Eriksdatter Vik was born on 17 April 1868 at Stryn, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Erik Sjursen Grønevik and Brithe Iversdatter Indre Bø.1 Johanne and Rasmus had one son. Johanne Marie Eriksdatter Vik emigrated on 9 May 1890 from Stryn and Bergen, Norway to USA in the emigration records her name was listed as Vig. She is listed as unmarried.4,5
     Johanne Marie Eriksdatter Vik married Rasmus Nelson circa 1891 at Minnesota or South Dakota.6
     Johanne Marie Eriksdatter Vik married Rasmus Anderson Muri circa 1899 at South Dakota.7 Johanne and Rasmus had one son. Johanne Marie Eriksdatter Vik was widowed in 1901.8
     Johanne Marie (Vik Nelson) Anderson married Mathias Jørgensen Maurset, son of Jørgen Rasmusson Sindre and Martha Garbrandsdatter Gildestad, on 20 August 1902 at Clarkfield, Friendship Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota.5 Johanne and Mathias had two daughters and two sons.1 Johanne Marie Eriksdatter Vik was widowed on 9 August 1939 at age 71.5,9 She died on 11 January 1960 at Faribault, Rice County, Minnesota, at age 91.5,10 She was Lutheran. Johanne Marie's obituary was published in the Clarkfield Advocate on 14 January 1960 at Clarkfield, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota.5
     "Johanne Marie was the first of the seven daughters to come to America, coming to Clarkfield in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She married three times. Arden's father was Rasmus Anderson. Her third husband, Matt Jurgenson, was the father of Mildred, Judith, Erling and Bennett. We called her Shanna and she was a very hard working woman, being on the farm with a big family and very concerned about her two nieces and nephew after her sister, Oline, died. Matt Jurgenson brought four children to this marriage: Martha, Jorgen, Martin and Severin." -- Grønevik, Alma Stewart (1987) in 1987.11
     "Johanna, 3rd [sic] oldest, was married twice. First [sic] husband, Rasmus Muri, passed away in 1901. She and her young son, Arden, returned to Norway and stayed one year. Arden farms the home place at Clarkfield. Returning from Norway, Johanna married Matthias Jorgenson. They had four children: Mildred, Judy, Erling, and Bennet." -- Reggie Vick.8
     "We always called Johanne "Shanna," which I imagine is a child's way of saying Johanna. She was a wonderful cook; her kitchen always smelled so good. One year she came to Portage and helped Mother make quilts. Our living room was full of quilting frame for weeks." -- Betty Stewart.12
