     Mons Abrahamsen Henden was born on 15 April 1861 at Ytre Henden 46/3 Jo-br., Vereide, Gloppen, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway.2,3 He was the son of Abraham Jonson Henden and Oline Monsdatter Hopland.1 Mons Abrahamsen Henden was baptized on 12 May 1861 at Vereide, Gloppen, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway, Sponsors were Ole Monsen, Jon Jonsen, Kristen Kristensen (?), Brite Endredatter, Rakel Jonsdatter.4
     Mons Abrahamsen Henden married Theoline Pedersdatter Sleben, daughter of Peder Andreassen Sleben and Anne Tommesdatter, on 15 July 1881 at Asker, Asker, Akershus, Norway.5,6 Mons Abrahamsen Henden and Theoline Pedersdatter Sleben emigrated on 26 August 1881 from Kristiania, Norway to Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, by priest's permission, on the ship Angelo. The journey to Hull, England took about three days, then they had a train trip to Liverpool. They would have left Liverpool no earlier than 30 August, assuming connections were made. The fastest crossing in 1881 (Queenstown-New York) was somewhat under 8 days, so they probably arrived no earlier than 8 September, 1881.7,8 Mons Abrahamsen Henden died before 1900 at USA ; his wife is widowed in the 1900 Norwegian census.6,9
