BASIC TACTICS
(1) Kill enemy tanks which hold pills. (2) Hide. Hide in the forest or
hide in the ocean. (3) Hide and attack enemies when they are weak.
Attack enemy tanks from behind when they are doing a pill take. Move
close enough so that the enemy barricade-pill shoots at you and hits the
enemy tank which is doing the take. Time your attack so that if the
enemy tank uses his builder it will die. (4) Immediately vulture at the
beginning of games because the enemy's territory is most vulnerable
then. Use boats to flank into enemy territory. On maps with no shallow
water, blow up a mine to create a shallow water next to your starts to
facilitate a navy. Hide when you flank enemy territory.
ADVANCED TACTICS
(5) Hide by pills you suspect will be attacked soon. Then shoot at the enemy pill or builder when the enemy attacks that pill. Place a trap pill and hide to foil the enemy's attack on that pill. (6) Don't carry pills when enacting virus style: they aren't needed. (7) Hide by bases you suspect enemies will use soon. Then kill the enemy's builder when it gets trees. Also, kill enemy tanks when they refuel. Place a mine behind your enemy with your builder. This mine will distract your enemy and damage him if you can shoot the enemy tank into the mine. (7) Anger your pills and repair them so they look benign. Lure your enemy near your angry pills and when he runs away pursue for the kill. Pretend you have no bullets so the enemy won't fear your tank; then attack. (8) Viruses seldom use builders: tend to use virus style when you lose your builder. Viruses which have builders should use them more riskily. (9) Viruses are more effective in multiplayer games because of the defrayed risk of sortie failures and increased anonymity. (10) Hide in enemy territory and, via pillview, send your builder across enemy view and along a fast path to your territory. Your enemy will expect a pill placement in enemy territory and follow your builder. Then attack the enemy tank. (11) Create tank traps with a straight of rubble between blocks. Lead a pursuing enemy into the straight but then leave mines behind you at the exit to trap the enemy on slow-turn terrain; then attack.
