I'm dedicating this WEB page to my 1959 Harley Davidson XL Sportster and
my younger brother Mike. I hope to add not only pictures but places where you can go to
find those hard to located items for your Sportster. Feel free to email me with
suggestions or comments on what you would like to see added to this site. Click on the red
"Email Me" button below.
I started this project in 1973 when I purchased a semi chopped, kind of
running, looked ugly Sporty. I paid $600.00 for the machine and began what seemed to be my
destiny. All seemed well for graduation and going for the big ride. Something tragic
happened to me and my family that year to make me stop and put it away. Two years ago I
pulled it out from under a moving blanket in my garage and decided to get it running.
During my discovery of what models were produced that year, I found that mine only had 41
others made. That was the last year Harley Davidson made the XL model of the Sportster. It
also was the first year they brought forth to the demanding market of
"Norton" and "Triumph" the XLCH model that put Harley Davidson back on
the map of "the fastest motorcycle made" for ten years!
Check out my photos, motorcycle sources and technical
information. The sources and technical information will be update from time to time to
bring you new information so you can do it a little easier than I did.

I'm participating in a program called Seti@home. This
program is a scientific experiment that harnesses the power of hundreds of thousands of
Internet-connected computers in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI). You
can participate by running a free program that downloads and analyzes radio telescope
data. There's a small but captivating possibility that your computer will detect the faint
murmur of a civilization beyond Earth.
